There are times when movies are given the B rating and people seem to just go along with that.

I bought it because I remembered seeing it on TV about thirty years ago, and remembered that it was in Fifty Worst Movies of all time.
The penalty for giving birth to a child is the literal sacrifice of the mother's life, but not even that ultimate threat is sufficent to dissuabe everyone. I loved this movie and can't really see what was so awful about it. This is one of many films that came out in the 70's that explored a bleak ( and possibly post-apocalyptic), but bearable future. The acting is decent, the visuals are simplistic but affectively suit the theme and mood of the movie. I actually came across this movie by searching for vintage 70's posters, I might actually buy one now after becoming somewhat of a fan of this movie. It is also some of the rare footage of Oliver Reed sober, although I could be wrong on that score.
