My only complaint would be that the folks at Sushi Yoshi appear to take great care and pride in their fresh fish offerings, yet the miso soup and wasabi was from a package and the pork dumplings appeared to be store-bought.

The Chirashi sushi dish, however, is such a great deal; you get so much sashimi along with rice topped with vegetables for a low price. The first thing you notice about this restaurant before you even enter it is the very strong smell of fish and garbage. I had the Sashimi Deluxe - a HUGE plate of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, mackerel, seared tuna and salmon, some white tuna, a single calimari and shrimp, and a dollop of spicy tuna mash -- all thickly cut, fresh, and flavorful. I stole a few bites of the chirashi and recommend it - a complex mix of vinegary sweetness and the flavors of raw fish. My fellow diners got the chirashi, which was a GIANT bowl of sushi rice with a few mix-ins, served with a separate plate of sashimi toppings that appeared to be almost exactly the same as my Sashimi Deluxe (with a few omissions). This places serves up good sushi and reasonable prices. So, we always do takeout to avoid the crowds. We lived in Japan for over two years and this place is the real deal down to the pork and chicken Katsu and Miso soup. We weren't sure walking up where it was...one of the best value restaurant in my view, especially for chirashi, but very tight spot, and hard to find parking. Based on the users' feedback on Google, Sushi Yoshi is definitely one of the more popular sushi spots in the area with good quality sushi, even though it's on the pricier side.

We had tickets to a show at Wolf Trap which was conveniently located 10 minutes away so decided to give it a try.
