But, more than anything else, I wanted to feel beautiful," says Sheff. “Maybe you should be with someone like you,” she’ll say. “and to put this life together of things that make me happy and content on a daily basis: meditation and talking to my friends and surfing and taking my dogs out and writing.” He calls them “these puzzle pieces I needed to stay sober.”In 2011, Nic married Jette Newell, an actress and writer he knew in middle school and re-met 15 years later at a San Francisco art opening.
