Breaking Bad to me is like The Wire in that everyones like "its the best tv show ever" but I find it to be pretty average, watchable but nothing grabs me and makes me impatient to watch the next episode. None of them have a storyline like say Lost - if you want that I'd probably say try Battlestar Galactica (first one that comes to mind that had a strong running storyline).I haven't seen Justified or Breaking Bad, but I can very much recommend Dexter. Currently watching justified myself.Honestly, Death Note.

S4 of Dexter is probably one of the best seasons of any TV show in recent history, absolutely perfect. Walton Goggins as “Boyd Crowder.” Nor did Justified ever ignite the internet buzz machine the same way a show like Breaking Bad, or another excellent FX series The Americans, did.

Made shortly after the Sopranos, it had the same impact which Sopranos had on premium cable but the Shield was on basic cable (FX's first big show). The Wire (2002-2008) and Breaking Bad (2008-2013) are consistently at the top of such lists.
