Combine that with the references to the series in most new ND games, and PlayStation's apparent love for the series ("remastering" the games for PS4, Mark Cerny's reference to Jak 2 during the "Road to PS5" event, the limited run collection for the games), and it seems to me that the series just keeps being brought up, and I can't let it go. They decided to scrap the game and start work on The Last of Us.
I remember seeing somewhere that TPL was planned to have several more areas with a couple more of the hub-like villages on the way, and after seeing that I wish to see what that could have looked like with the old areas as well. I think what this game could do different this time around is the story it tells.
It was great, but by no means perfect, because of the blatant cliffhangers. They would only ever add on gameplay wise that just made unlocking all the guns throughout the story worth it and the versatility of the cars as well. nothing will ever replace the jak 1 feeling I have.
so much in the world still makes me angry. The story was left open ended, and there are many directions that the series could go, and questions that could be left to be answered. Other Ottsel 2: "Duh... or was it the past?

But my point is, that right now Jak is basically dead and is only alive to die hard fans aka us. It would be cool to have a Jak game with no load times and exploring the Jak universe. Would love for a Jak 4 to be made with maybe Gol and maya coming back. It blends together so many different elements and makes them all feel natural with each other.
It'd be nice, though, at least just to show that they're not just a one trick pony. Eventually Jak 2 came out and I asked for it for Christmas and I got it when I went to my grandmas.
However, I would love to see one. All I know is, the events of post-J3 is best designed as story dlc (ala Raven's Choice - The Ark of Time, Episode Shadow [conceptually], Episode Metal [conceptually], Left Behind, Blood Dragon, First Light, Brigmore Witches, Minerva's Den, Lost in Nightmares, etc).Some people claim the story-line ended perfectly, I disagree. And like other games, if those are strong, the gameplay can be modernised and people will still love it.At this point I want something a bit closer to the first game, at least in world design. The Dark Makers are not defeated, and thus the DM plot is (technically) unresolved. HD remastered would probably not be enough graphics sell. Jak 3 was my favorite Jak game and still one of my favorite of all time. lmao)What could Jak and Daxter do that they haven't already?
It would probably be spurred by market research designed to gauge interest, or Sony merely wanting to reinvigorate an old IP after encountering a decent pitch for how to bring the series back. It was balanced and one of those games that completely immersed you into this other world where you can learn everything about it.
I just want the right studio to do it, it doesn’t have to be ND. And on top of all of this Jak 3 leaves off on "With all the crazy adventures we have ahead of us" It hurts just knowing that never got truly realized. Its intriguing, and it makes you wonder "What could have been?
(JX possibly features a present where JaD defeated them all together. Young Jak could be the key to solving puzzles that lead to Mar? Once the series has modern day remakes and is fresh again then make a Jak 4.
I liked the last Ratchet & Clank game, or at least saw the potential. lolThe universe of Jak and Daxter has so much untapped potential.
Naughty Dog team was split to work on Uncharted 3 with Team B working on Jak 4. But it definitely wouldn't feel like the original Jak games, especially in the story department (since their big thing right now is priding themselves on their storytelling ability).I honestly wouldn't mind if they returned to a format more similar to the original Jak games but simply made as beautiful as their modern games, but their current formula sells so well that I don't think they'd deviate much simply for monetary and brand identity reasons.
Every implication of a 4th mainline entry blows up and gets people hyped, and over and over and over again it never comes to fruition.
Fans don't get to decide what is and isn't canon.My guess is that it would go somewhere outside of Haven City, like The Lost Frontier and to an extent Jak X did.
Everything is just do damn intriguing, interesting and fun. Maybe open world hub with maps we've seen from Jak X like kras city. I prefer it this way as we're essentially getting two different stories within one game installment and almost 2 separate games.
